10 fun maths games for children

Learning maths is important for children because it provides them with a foundation for academic and real-world success, develops important cognitive and analytical skills, and opens up a wide range of career opportunities.

To help encourage your child with their learning, we have come up with a list of 10 fun maths games for you to try with them:

1. Number Bingo

Create bingo cards with numbers instead of letters and call out numbers to mark off the card.

2. Maths Dice

Roll dice and use the numbers to create equations, challenging kids to use their maths skills.

3. Maths Memory

Create cards with numbers and equations and play a matching game where kids must match the equation to the correct answer.

4. Fraction Pizza

Create a "pizza" using a paper plate and different coloured construction paper to represent different fractions. Have kids identify and add the fractions.

Create cards with different amounts of money and challenge kids to match them to the correct dollar amount.

6. Measurement Scavenger Hunt

Have kids search for objects around the house that match specific measurements, such as objects that are 12 inches long or weigh 2 pounds.

7. Shape Bingo

Create bingo cards with different shapes and call out shapes to mark off the card.

8. Times Table Twister

Create a game board with multiplication equations and have kids play Twister while calling out the correct answers.

9. Maths Jeopardy

Create a Jeopardy-style game board with different maths categories and point values, challenging kids to answer maths questions.

10. Math Olympics

Create a series of maths challenges, such as timed multiplication or addition races, and have kids compete to see who can complete the challenges the fastest.
